:) First of all - no, I haven’t programmed in Erlang (yet), but quite a lot of other programming languages. Joe Armstrong is one of the three inventors of Erlang. When at the Ericsson computer science lab in 1986, he was part of the team who designed and implemented the first version of Erlang. He has written several Erlang books including Programming Erlang Software for a Concurrent World.

Guest(s): Joe Armstrong Host(s): Markus In this Episode we’re talking about Erlang with its creator Joe Armstrong. We started by looking at the history of the Erlang language and why it is so relevant today. We then looked at Joe’s approach to Concurrency Oriented Programming and its main ingredients:

He has worked for Ericsson where he developed Erlang and was chief architect of the Erlang/OTP system. Joe Armstrong is a retired computer scientist.

Erlang has two primitives term_to_binary and the inverse binary_to_term that serialise any term and reconstruct it - so storing complex terms on disk is really easy.

Joe Armstrong is one of the creators of Erlang. He has a Ph.D. in computer science from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden and is an expert

He has worked for Ericsson where he developed Erlang and was chief architect of the Erlang/OTP system. Joe Armstrong is a retired computer scientist. He got his grey hairs inventing Erlang, starting a few companies, writing a few books, doing some research and teaching people to program.
